My first 3030

After many years of procrastinating I finally decided to buy a 3030. IÂ’m not sure why I have held off but finally figured everyone needs one. I donÂ’t know much about lever actions and had a hard time deciding rather I wanted a Winchester or Marlin. To be honest, the only reason I chose the Marlin was because you can mount a scope inline with the bore instead of off to the side. WeÂ’ll see how it goesÂ… She should be in the end of this week. I went with the 336c. I hope I made the best choice.

     You couldn't go wrong either way. I personally like Marlins for the reason you describe, but Whinchesters have their following too.

This Marlin will lead to more! I think you will be happy with your choice. I have both the Winchester and the Marlin and I have to say that Marlin is better rifle in opion. Plus it is made in USA! I believe you will find the lever guns to be very accurate, easy to handle, and fun to use. You will have to check out Ranch Dogs postal match and shoot some targets. Here is the link for the match:

I got my first 3030 in 1982? got it for CHRISTmas and still shoots as good now as then. Mine is the 336c too. I sort of retired it cause I use my 4570
more than any other rifle I have.
