Got my CZ 550 American 30-06 today

Well, I finally was able to get the CZ 550 I talked about on my other thread about having only one centerfire bolt rifle.  Anyway, I've only been able to mount the scope (Burris BalisticPlex) on it.  

BTW, the 100 meter target that came with the gun showed a three shot group of 5/8"!!! :grin:   I hope this is a habit with this gun!!!

Anyway, the blueing is dark blue and beautiful.  The stock is a very nice piece of walnut.  I messed with the trigger and lightened it up a bit as well as adjusting travel.  The single set trigger part is something else. :lol:

Well, as you can see, this old man is excited.  I've very anxious to get it to the range, break in the barrel properly, and see how she shoots.

Good luck, and happy hunting! The CZ's are sweet guns. And for the "one rifle" man, the .30-06 has always been the #1 choice.

Hi There,

      Sounds nice, good luck at the range and I look forward to a report later after your return. PIctures of your new rifle would be nice. I really don't think that you can go wrong with these CZ rifles.

:D I'm sure you're going to be surprised by your CZ. I am the proud owner of a CZ 550 American in 7x57mm and it is my one rifle for all of my big game hunting in the rifle season. I handload and am getting three shot groups that are less than a half inch at 100 yards and just a tad over one inch at 200 yards. I put a Leupold on top of mine and am very happy with the whole setup. CZ produces one very fine shooting weapon. I hope you got your CZ at a good price. Seems like the price of them is getting higher and higher. I bought mine in 2001 and was so pleased with it, when it got time to trade my Howa 1500 Lightning in for something else, I went with the CZ 527 in .223 Remington. Again, great choice of a rifle and good luck with it. :grin:

You will be wrapt with your cz 550 I have 5 with a 6th on thw ay. IMHO there the best buy on the market, mauser ancestory, they shoot and there metal.

M70's are the next on mylist, but I have that many cz's now thats he way I have to go.
