New Henry Owner

Went down to the new Sportsmans Warehouse Last week with $240 dollars in my pocket and full intentions of buying a new gun. I knew I wanted a new .22 but which one was the question. I have kind of had levergun fever lately so the Henry was an easy choice. I like the gun very much. It shoots great. I dont know the last time I shot a brick of .22 in one day. I plan to do the same again next weekend. By the way I paid $199 for the gun so I have started a new rat hole fund for my next purchase.

I looked a blue Henry over yesterday.  It seems like a nice gun.  While I prefer the hand cut checkering and polished blue of my 9422 the Henry seems like a much more cost effective, useable lever gun.  Sometimes my Winchester seems to nice to take in the brush.  The Henry is a workman like gun that I wouldn't be afraid too use.

The blue on the reciever seems like powder coat.  Does anyone know if it is?

Have you guys seen the new Henry [H001T] It has the same octagonal 20" barrel and sights as the Golden boy and it's MSRP is about $50. more than the standerd Henry H001.

The Henrys are really accurate from what I have seen and nice guns My 22 mag Henry will shoot under .5. 5 shot groups at 50 yards. One group I shot was 4 shots in one 30 cal hole and one flyer for a 5 shot group under .5 inches. I really bugs me when guys on the net bad mouth these guns because of the alloy recievers and then in the next breath say how good their Rugers are when they both use cast alloy recievers. Yea the Henry does not have the steel of the Win 9422 or the Marlin but it does not need to have it to still be a accurate effective gun. I do not understand in these days of plastic pistols that every one is ga ga about that they still bash the Henry for having a cast alloy reciever. I consider my Henry 22 mag a great gun and nice and accurate enough it wears a Leupold 4x M8 compact scope. Jim
