Sourdough front sight

After seeing it mentioned on one of the GB forums, I ordered up a sourdough front sight from Brownell's.

Installed it on my Win 71 and took it to the range last week. Wow, for punching paper I LOVE it.  I was able to shoot much more consistently and got tighter groups than with the old silver bead.  I just wish the blade was a little thinner.  Might order another and thin it down myself.

Don't know how it will perform for game shooting but it sure presents a much clearer sight picture for me.  I'll be putting one on my Win 94, possibly some other guns as well.

Yep you betcha Mikey.  I had read about em but I had never tried one even though I use post and apertures for some of my air rifles.

So I figured I 'd give the sight some good press and encourage Marbles to keep making them.  I also wonder why factories insist on installing the beads instead of posts.  Interesting, out here some of the Native hunters break the bead off their rifle sights and use the resulting thin blade.

Brownells says they had a hard time convincing Marbles to reissue this sight. I want to encourage folks to try them.

I hope to try mine out on moose next fall.
