1911-style Taurus?
« on: March 27, 2005, 02:49:52 PM »
Has anyone heard anything about this new offering? I don't even know the official name but I heard a MSRP of $500.00. If it is a decent pistol that price sounds like a steal for a 1911 style pistol.

I have heard about it, and there are even some pic's on the net. I have not heard rumors of the price though, but 500 sounds about right.

I'm looking to get one in my hands also. From wjat I saw on that same show it looks to be very well put together. Did i understand the Taurus guy right when he said there was about $800 worth of custom stuff in this gun?

Check out the current edition of Shooting Times for an article on the PT-1911.  The article states that all parts are made by Taurus and are interchangeable with any other 1911 parts.  The review on the pre-production specimen was very positive, but then, most gun mag reviews of new products are.  I can't wait to handle one in person.   I wonder--is a Commander-size version in the works?

Well, it's mid-October, and I haven't seen or heard another word about the Taurus 1911.  Any news out there?  Has anyone seen one or heard any news?

There was some other guns on the taurus website which were supposed to come out third quarter that still aren't out...  so we will see when this one comes out, maybe not hold the breath :?
