Polish TT33 fresh out the box...
« on: March 24, 2005, 10:46:21 AM »
Just traded two gray CZ52's for one Polish TT33 Polish Tokarev...Ex.cond...all number matching, even the mag...still got cosmo on it. Has an 11 in a circle on top of the slide with the 1954 date on it. Unfortunately it has the import safety on it. Very small importer letters on the left frame under slide.
Sorry for crappy pics...laid it on the scanner...no camera...
Left side is NOT discolered like it looks...don't know why it came out like that.

NRAJOE - those Polish made TT33s are supposed to be the best of the bunch, unless you find a Russian made job that was kept warm, fuzzy and saw a lot of cuddle with its previous owner (lol).

The safety on the forward part of the grip is much more positive than the rear mounted ones that work the opposite of the 1911 slide safeties.

However, whadya git rid of those tow CZ52s fer?   Interesting thing about the Toks and the CZs - you can rebarrel for 9mm as well as 38 Super in both pistols and shoot up a whole buncha different ammo.

My old Chinese TT33 keeps dropping its slide safety, so I let it fall out - the original half cock safety is more effective.  But I had been thinking that if I ever sold this one I would get one of the Polish made TTs and be much happier with it.  Nice buy.  Mikey.

I have the exact same Polish Tokarev 7.62x25 too in very good condition except its dated "1950" on the top with the safety and it came with an extra mag.  My Chinese Tokarev is Model 213 and its in 9mmx19 in very good condition with matching numbered mag and its importer marked too and it came with an extra mag too. The Russian Tokarev 7.62x25 is 1954 in excellent condition ++ with matching numbers mag but there's no importer marks on it and it came with an extra mag also with holster.  I was lucky I went into an out of the way gun shop thats kind of off the beaten path and i found the three Tok's next to a CZ52 which also came home with me too. I really don't run into many Tokarev's here so I had to grab them all.  The dealer had a nice luger and P38 too but he wanted too much $$ for them. I probably should pick up a Luger and P38 in the future now that i think of it there the only ones i'm missing. I kind of went from one C&R handgun an Astra 600/43 in 9mm parabellum to having most of what i wanted in one trip.  The only one i have shot so far is the Astra 9mm which was a war bring back, it was a gift from my uncle who was in the war he brought it back.  I'm not sure how he got it he was on a PT Boat and he never talked about the war. The only thing he ever said was they beached the boats, stripped them and burned them after the war was over thats all i remember him saying about the war. I know he seen action but he never said a word about it. Its funny some guys will talk about the war and some won't. Thanks to Mikey, S.Sumner and NRAJOE you guys got me into collecting C&R handguns too!!!!!!!!            BigBill

War Time TT 33's

German Sales has has 41-46 TT-33's with holster and two matching Mags. They say they are arsenal refurbished with new unfired barrels for $265.00 OTD.  Is this a good price? I have several CZ 52's but no TT 33 and am thinking of taking that plunge, just unsure about the price.
If it ain't loaded it's just a club!

Yup...good price...people are reporting them coming in on other boards. Be advised that the "matching numbers" are usually electro penciled or crossed out and restamped to match on barrel and mags. Post wars have slightly better finish than the wartime ones...(I.E. toolmarks...small scratches etc)...over all a fine piece...sure to go up $100-$200 in value in a couple years.

I was gonna get one but I'll deal with the import safety on my Pole just because it has all number STAMPED matching original to the gun...I don't like markouts or electropenciling.

Also be advised Apr 1st they will be going up $25 dollars due to demand...instead of $250 + $15 shipping for the ones with "2 matching mags" They will be $275 + $15 shipping.

GSC is now out fof wartime guns and the BATF has made them quit selling them altogether on some grounds or another. I got a wartome one, all stamped matching including the over struck barrel. Nice pistols

A guy on another forum called and spoke to GSP yesterday at 1400 hours CST and the lady confirmed that the ATF has stopped sales and is requiring a manual safety be added to the TT-33's. She has returned approximately 300 money orders and is not processing any more sales of those who provided credit card numbers. She said they will fight the decision but anticipates it will take several months to get an answer. She was pretty upset at this disruption of business and the potential financial and customer loss. She could only recommend checking back with them in a month to see if any progress has been made.
