Looking for a TIKKA 595 Whitetail wood stock
« on: March 20, 2005, 04:01:57 PM »
Hey TIKKA lovers.. I bought a Whitetail Hunter in 308 and love it.. I just now wish that I bought one with a wood stock.. The synthetic is all right, but it's my first synthetic stock and I am starting to  wish I went with teh wood..

Anyone have a wood take-off  they would want to part with?

It's unfortunate that the WHs are no longer made because their true short actions were great.  The wood on the Tikkas are very good for factory guns, especially their deluxe wood models.  Either way, I think it would be very tough for anyone (even synthetic stock lovers) to part with their wood stocked Tikkas. :)

Tikka 308 Whtetail Hunter

This is a beauty!!  I have  a T3 in a 6.5-55 and a Tikka Continental Varmint  in a 223.  The wood on all of them is close to furniture grade.  I got the T3 first then the Whitetail Hunter.  I really like all three of the guns but I give a slight nod to the Whitetail Hunters, their balance and looks just a touch better.  Of course we all want what we can't get anymore , Right!!!!  I haven't got the final scope for the 308 yet but I think I am going to go with a 3-9 Zeiss Conquest.  By the way if those new 98 and 03 Mausers shoot as good as they look I could be weak for one of those!  Buckfever
