Are you sure you don't mean Model 39 Century Limited? If a Century Limited; 34,197 were made in 1970 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Marlin Co. It had a 20"octagonal barrel, semi-buckhorn rear sight and brass blade front sight. The stock is fancy walnut, with a staight grip and a brass forend tip and buttplate.There is a medallion inlaid into the right side of the receiver and a brass plate on the stock. Value is as follows;
NIB 350
Exc 250
V.G. 200
Good 150
Fair 125
Poor 100

As a commemorative this model needs to be as it came from the factory to command collector interest.

The above is from the 2005 Standard Catalog of Firearms by Ned Schwing.

thanks, that is exactly what it is.  On the barral it says centennial Ltd, which I assumed was limited.  I just wanted to put down exactly what it said.  I appreciate the info, it is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks

I'm not surprised. I did a doubletake when I saw the NIB price in the book. I sure would like to find a couple NIB for $350 each. :eek:

I have a Marlin 39 Century Limited, that has been fired but is as new.

I have been offered $600.00 for it, but I wouldn't sell it for anything.

Brokenrack;

Like you, I can find nothing on your rifle. The Blue Book lists one model 80,a bolt action repeater made from 1934-1939. Obviously not yours.

What action does yours have? Any additional info would be helpful. Could your rifle possibly be a commemorative for one of Marlins many private label customers?(Otasco, Gamble's, etc.)

It's Marked as a Marlin,  Has a Commerative medalion on the right side of the stock which is oil finished walnut,  Monte carlo stock.  Has a white line spacer on the butt plate and one on the stock for a sling swivel agian white lined.  It has a flat bottomed forstock, Stainless bolt, Seven shot clip.  I bought another clip for it but I forget what model worked.  I don't have it here with me it's at my mom's.  It's marked for .22 short, long and long rifle. has a micro grooved barrel.  Real nice looking gun.  That's about all I can remember off hand.  Oh, yeah it has a gold trigger.
