New Mauser made rifles
« on: March 18, 2005, 09:55:37 AM »
Hi
A couple of weeks ago I was in a gun shop and saw a very beautiflul rifle which was a new production from Mauser a hunting  m98 model. Does anyone own or have an experience with these new mausers? i'll be grateful to hear your opinion about these guns.
all the best

Mauser M98 and the M 03 look great!  I will bet they cost some serious coinage.

Mauser has 3 varieties of the 98 action.  The original 1898 action which is the basis for all the pre-war, WWII and post-war 98s, the Model 1998 which is thir beautiful update of the original 1898 action and, the Model 03 which is even more beautatious (sp???).

When I viewed the pictures in the link I noticed the stock configuration on the new 03 appeared to be the same as on my older (but don't know how much older) Husquavarna made 98 sporter.  Seems some designs never die, thank goodness.

Dang, and I thought I liked the looks of the Browning A-Bolt but that new Mauser is a beauty.  Mikey.

Hi Guys
Now you have seen these rifles you understand my agony and desire to have one of those nice things. unfortunatly my quote of guns are ful ( i own more than 5 hunting rifles which i like them all and can't buy one of them unless to sell or get rid of one of my old companions.it is the law here and I respect the law even how cruel it could be!. The price of mauser O3 is about 18000 SKR/ one us $ = 6,90 SKR which means 2500 USD!! maybe it is  about the same in US.but you don't need a custom built gun it is already custom built   i haven,t yet seen an article about these guns in gun litratures  here only about the MO3 which is a new type of action not the original M98.
cheers

Life is too short, so do what you can to afford one.  Then a range report and pictures are a must!

I don't like working overtime, so I'm thinking about selling lots of stuff! :)
Anyone know who is importing these into the U.S. ?
