surplus handgun ammo??
« on: March 15, 2005, 12:25:21 PM »
Ok with some of the 7,62x25 ammo being machine pistol ammo and its being too hot for the military surplus pistols is some of the surplus 9mm the sameway too??  I shot my Astra 600/43 in 9mm with surplus ammo a while back and i think it barked more than it should of??  I've shot my CZ85B in 9mm with wolf ammo and it was a pussycat to shoot when i compared it to the Astra with surplus ammo there not the same kick?  I'm wondering if some of the surplus 9mm is machine pistol ammo too. Waht do you think is some of this older 9mm parabellum/luger  machine pistol ammo? Could it be because it seems to be so much hotter?                  BigBill

I found out there is surplus 9mm machine gun or machine pistol ammo around and it is hotter than regular 9mm pistol ammo.    I just had that gut feeling the way the astra handled it was hotter stuff.   BigBill

it really depends on the handgun you are shooting
it from. A Cz52 should devour just about any 7.62x25
ammo there is. It was actually designed around a higher
pressure round than the 7.62 Tok. I think it was designated
the M48. These higher pressure rounds should not be
fired in any of the TT33 variants though.
