Shots At Whitetails (kinda OT)
« on: March 14, 2005, 03:36:10 AM »
I have heard about this book by Larry Koller for a long time.  It has been out of print for about 25 yrs.  Me and the family were on a short "vacation "  to New Orleans this weekend and my wife found a book store she just HAD to go in.  BORING!!!  Turns out this is a specialty shop dealing only in alot of out of print stuff and very old books.  In my boredom I was looking at the small selection of sporting books.  I see this title that says "Shots at Whitetails".  So I say to myself: self, you better give that book a look.  I pick it up and start flipping the pages, now I cant put it down.  This book is GREAT. Oughta be required reading for all hunters.  I just wondered how many of you have read this book.  Very interesting stuff on all aspects of hunting and woodsmanship.  There is also alot on shooting and different guns!  If you get a chance to read or buy it, I suggest it!!!!!!!

Thanks Jeffery8mm, it sounds great, I'll check the old bookstore near me and see if they have a copy. Out of curiosity and so I'll have an idea of what they are worth how much did your copy cost you? I take it was used or was it new? Was it a hardcover or paperback and what condition? Thanks....<><....

Used hardcover.  Very nice condition.  One you wouldnt mind leaving on the coffee table  The price was only 20.00, so I dont think that they are all that rare, just out of print.

It's back in print again.  Published by the folks that bring us Deer & Deer Hunting Magazine -- Krause Publications.  It's been back on shelves since late 2001.

Hey Jeff, where in Mississippi do you live? I'm 50 miles North of New Orleans right off I-55.

Hey 10ga.  I live in the metropolis of Newton.  Great little town!!
We usually take the kids to NO at least once a year.  We really like it there. [for a day or so]  The french market seems to be a big hit with the woman folk.  Three of them and one of me so I am usually outnumbered.
