Star BM 9mm
« on: March 13, 2005, 01:30:26 PM »
I went browsing the gun shops today and looking at all the guns I found a Star BM 9mm that came home with me.  I seen one at a pawn shop a month ago and it was $100 higher than the one i purchased today.  I looked the gun over and checked the bore and it was perfect.  The local dealer was good enough to let look another over he had to pickout the best one.  The only difference i seen was a little less bluing on the other one other than that they looked the same.  The Star looks to be a good quality gun what do ya'll  think?                              BigBill

I went to another local dealer over a year ago and i asked him to order one and he wouldn't bother because he told me the Stars were all junk.  I knew he wanted me to buy something he had in the shop.  He in the end lost all my business and then they are left crying when they starve.

Hey BigBill - you did right.  The Star BM 9mms are good, solid and reliable little handguns.  You can shoot the 9mm all day long from one of them.  That dealer may have had one that he didn't like, but unless yours starts going wrong it should last you quite a while.  Mikey.

BigBill - two of them is an even better idea.  They are solid and reliable pistols.  You're quite correct about some dealers.  I think a problem is that American handgun manufacturers rarely provided the variability of design you find from the european market, some not so good and many dealers recall poor quality european handguns, so you just have to do what you did - shop around until you see something you like and go for it.  With all the surplus ammo in 9mm available these days you should be able to have a lot of fun with them.  Gonna see how good ya'll kin get shootin' two handed???????  Mikey.

Hey elyod 56, where can you buy parts at for the star bm?
I been thinking about getting one but read other posts saying parts are hard to come by so just bypassed them.
Also any idea which supplier has the best prices and condition currently?
