Where to dove hunt in Midwest??
« on: March 11, 2005, 12:45:51 PM »
The debate over dove hunting (currently illegal) in Michigan has heated up over the past year.

To be honest, prior to all the buzz, I hadn't really considered hunting doves.  Now, the more I learn, the more I REALLY want to do this.  I sure hope that we can get this thing passed.

In the mean time, me and a couple buddies would like to give it a shot in a neighboring state.  We're thinking a 2-4 day road trip with some dove hunting and camping.

Does anybody know of a good place?  Again, none of us have ever hunted doves before, so we're thinking that some sort of a "semi-guided" hunt would be the way to go.  Are there such things?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Central Illinois has some very good dove hunting but plan on hitting it the opening day and the days following as they will be the best ones.  Yes people have guiding.

Would REALLY like to find some Dove hunting in Northern Virginia. Seems to be drying up around here. I have missed it since my triple-by-pass. Time to get back out. :) Any hints out there for this area?? :)
