Food?
« on: March 08, 2005, 02:22:33 AM »
:D

It looks like we have the sleeping and shooting covered, but what about the food?  I know I like to eat, but don't like to cook.  I really need my morning coffee at least to get me jump started in the AM until I can get to a food shop.

Food man Food.  :-)
Happy shooting, may you hit what you aim at.

There should be coffee available at the Hotel, though I don't know for sure yet as I haven't got the packet yet that she is mailing me.

As for lunch and dinner.....There are plenty of fast food joints and restaurents around the Hooker/Guymon area.  We will also probably fire up the grill at night.

Hmm, coffee ain't food. There will be breakfast available also won't there? You failed to mention it. Some of us good ole boys like three meals a day. Got a growing belly to feed don't ya know.  :)  However I long ago learned to bring with me enough food to cover me for all meals just in case. So I'll have me some stuff to survive on that don't require cooking.

I did a Mapquest search for restaurants in the area of Hooker and came up with a total of 118 of them. Looks like most are in Guymon rather than Hooker but I'm betting us old fat boys don't go hungry with 118 restaurants in a short drive of us. Looks like they've got something no matter the taste.

OK, it seems that we are not going to go hungry buy not cooking.

But how about liquid refeshment establishments. (fermented and non-fermented)

As you all know the BS gets better/deeper when there is some is refeshments involved.

As I've mentioned before, I have a place for us to hang out in the evenings after the shooting has died down.

It has a pool table, tv, couch etc etc......but most important, it has a "Keg-O-rater" in it.  If everyone wants, I can get it all set up before everyone gets here with a 16 gallon keg of high point beer (Michelobe Ultra).  It will probably cost everyone around five bucks a piece to get the keg.

Also, if everyone wants to, when we get everyone here, we can go into town and pick up some stuff to grill out.  Or, people can bring food, it's up to you guys.

There are also restaurants in Hooker and Guymon that  you can eat at.

I'll pass on the fermented beverages. Diet Sprite will work fine for me.  :D

Mitchell, the keg takes up most of the room, but I bet we can fit some soda in there for you somewhere.

I have a 150 quart cooler that I generally have full of my favorite soda pop to drink at such events. I make sure I'm well covered on that front. Being fat, old and lazy I've also learned to bring me a comfortable place to sit where ever I go.

Now grilling a steak at least once while there sure sounds like a plan.

I think it will amost be as much fun to see how everone will be set up for shooting and what gear and acc that they bring along for thier comfort as the actual shooting will be.

I think this could be the basics for the format of a good movie on shooting p-dogs. :-)

Graybeard:

150 quarts of soda pop is a lot of soda to drink.  That's 150 qts/ 4 days = 37.5 qts a day drank.

Between drinking soda pop and getting rid of soda pop, ya aren't going to have any time to lock & load & shoot p-dogs. :-)   May be I can learn a new trick or two here. :-)
Happy shooting, may you hit what you aim at.
