Good informatin on the .41. I would like to get a Ruger SBH .41 also, but would like it in the Bisley grip. Ruger does'nt make them right now and I have found a couple in the Gun List magazine. Are those ads legitimate, one price was for $550. Is there any haggling involved in buying a pistol like that from an advertisement in that magazine. Thanks for any information.

Davidsons still has the SBH Hunter with a Bisley grip from their special run in stock. My dealer quoted me $470 for one yesterday.

Pay attention to 41 Magnum load 260 LFN, many will be quite surprised what good load in 41 Magnum could do.

I just can't believe how light this Taurus Ti gun is. It feels great to carry in the bag. A box of ammo is more heavier than this gun. Any way, I tried the 210 gr HP/XTP over 10.0 gr of Blue Dot. It felt just a little less stiff of a load as the factory loads but the point of impact change (hitting higher than the ones with higher velocity... go figure..). Next, I will try 175 gr at about 1000 fps for plinking loads. The gun is behaving real well. No hickups. :-D

:cb2: A higher velocity will shoot lower. It's out of the barrel faster--before the barrel has risen much. A slower bullet is in the barrel as it has started to rise from the recoil and comes out as the barrel has begun to point upward just a tad. So everything is doin' what it's supposed to.

Let us know how you like the 175 load.

I was not able to find 175 gr bnullets. I did, however reload more rounds of the HP/XTP over 9.1 grs of Blue Dot. This load worked very nice! Accurate and easy to handle. I think I will stick to this load for this particular gun.

Most people who use a .41 are dedicated to the caliber. I have had 5 so far , and right now I am down to 3. Had ruger BH 6"/ 2 SW
57 blued 1 - 6" (Sold it and the Ruger) Sw 57 8 3/8" / Redhawk 7 1/2"
and Contender 14". Loved them all. The .41 get picked up quick here in PA. My 57 6 " lasted total of 3 hrs on a Saturday Morning on consignment. Only reason I sold it was to fund a Bear hunt in Alaska this
May. No the .41 will never die. Just my .02

I guess you can't consider this a hunting .41, but I've carried it for years either in a holster or on the seat of my pickup. I've had it for a long time, and have only used Remington 215 factory loads. It carries easy on the belt, especially under a coat, even while sitting in the truck. While opening gates, have shot a couple snakes. When in town it goes too, but I've haven't happened on any two legged snakes yet.

I've owned two nickel 6" Smith model 57's, both with S prefixes on the seriel number. I currently have a deal in the works for a 4" blue Smith model 57 P&R. The 4" blue is the one I've been trying to get and has eluded me since the mid '60's. With any luck, I'll own one soon? Forgotten or dead, I don't think so? Hopefully Smith has recently awoke to the want of their customers for the .41 mags., with the introduction of the new 57 M/G?

:cb2: Since Marlin has come out with a .41 lever action they must think there is some kind of market there.
