No 24" sidekick or huntsman barrels????
« on: February 18, 2005, 05:16:44 PM »
Was at NEF/Marlin Display at National Turkey Federation Convention today. The saleman told me that NEF were only making 26" barrels for both guns.  Has anyone else heard this???

I did take the opportunity to complain about the breach plug wrench but forgot to mention the ramrod.

Yep! The 2005 catalog only has 26" barrels for all the muzzle loaders, even the combo's.

I suggest that if anyone wants a 24" barrel, that they buy it now while there is some 2004 guns left. The barrel program had some 24" barrels earlier, but once they are gone it will be all 26" barrels.

I don't know what is up with Dallas Tactical Supply. The other day I checked and the 24" blued was back down to $117, just checked and it is way up there again and the SS ones are $225. Does anybody know why their prices keep flip-flopping back and forth?

Does anyone know if the ramrods on the 24" bbl. and the 26" bbl. are the same length?  I'm wondering if I should order an extra ramrod or two for my 24" bbl. to avoid any problems in the future with the length.  ( Like what happened when H&R/NEF switched over to new sights and the guns were shooting low ).

Stew, my 24" Huntsman ramrod nearly goes all the way into the barrel. In fact, it is hard to grab it when I put it all the way down.  It does not have the extra length to work with a 26". Have not compared them side to side though.
