What would you recommend for a twist in a 375 H&H barrel
« on: February 17, 2005, 04:37:38 AM »
What would you recommend for a twist in a 375 H&H barrel? I would like to shoot lead as well as jacketed bullets 260-350 grains.

Thanks,

bigboar  :-)

Bigboar,

All my .375's have a twist rate of 1-12".  Lawdog

1:12" minimum. In the large bore calibers with heavy bullets the more twist will help stabilize the bullets.

I have a Winchester M70 Classic Stainless that shoots unbelievably tight groups with 300 grain bullets.  I'm not 100% sure what the rate of twist is, but I think it's 1 in 12,  which is pretty standard for the .375H&H.
