new remington vls 243win

Finally got to shoot my new 243 yesterday.  Shots number 4, 5, and six were a sub 1" group.  Still breaking in the barrel so don't know how it will do after a few shot throught the barrel.  Its been my experience that gun shoots better after being shot a few times than just after cleaning.  All I've done so far is a little trigger work.  Shot it some more today.  I wasn't very comfortable on what I had to shoot on but I still managed to pull off two groups under 1 inch.  Glad I went with the Remington.

Any tips on how to accurize this gun would be greatly appreciated.  Going to get the barrel broken in and then see how it will shoot.  I may float the barrel and see about glass bedding the stock.  Not sure about the glass bedding in the wood stock.  Information would be greatly appreciated.

In God I Trust!

Howdy!

I also have a Rem VLS in 243.  I've installed a Timney trigger and will glass bed the action and free float the barrel when I can this spring.  I use 55gr Nosler BTs and get a velocity of 3500fps.  Shoots great!

I'd just bed the action, float the barrel and find a load!

Doug
