I can see a slight bit of light between the breech and frame when it is locked up. Is this normal? how do I trouble shoot this?

Normal condition.  On my barrels that I have measured with a feeler guage the gaps on these barrels are .004, .007, .005, .002 and .001 (in inches) respectively.  If you reload, you want to take this into account when you size your brass to keep from having too much head space.  When properly sized, your brass should protrude from the chamber (make sure the extractor does not interfere and give you a false reading) an amount equal to the gap between barrel and breech face.
