Does anyone have an idea how much the walnut stock set weighs for an encore vs. the synthetic sotck set? I currently have the walnut set and wonder how much weight I can lose by going synthetic. Thanks

I just went and weighed two stocks and forends. My walnut stock and schnabel forend which came on my 30.06 Encore when new - combined weight is 1# - 14.6 oz. I have a TC rynite(?) synthetic set that came on another Encore - weighs 1#- 13.4 oz. Not much difference, is there? I also have a Boyd's walnut stock which is identical to the original, so I weighed it (stock only) as it feels slightly heavier - just denser wood. The original TC walnut stock as mentioned in the set above is 1# -7.4 oz. vs the Boyd's walnut stock which is 1# - 9.2 oz. Hope this helps. Good Shootin'.

Can anyone add the weights for the Realtree synthetic set?

I don't have that set. If I did, I would be glad to weigh it. I have handled some of the realtree stocks when comparing Omega muzzleloaders. I didn't detect any weight difference between that and the black stock, so I just assumed that the base material was the same under the camo. But.... I sure could be wrong. Hope someone can help you. Good shootin'
