Midway lists 5.6X33R, and 5.6X52R (Norma)if either of these would work. Otherwise the Old Western Scrounger lists  code # 2144581   5.6X50R MAGNUM BRASS (RWS) at $24.11 per box of 20. Or, HIRTENBERGER brand code # 56500   5.6X50R BRASS  at $9.59 per box of 20.

RWS is the best, but so is the price!  Ouch!

HHI 812, This can be problematic....   I have a 6X50R Bellm that uses improved 5.6X50R brass. I bought my only #100 (Hirtenberger--HP) from Huntington's about 2/02 at $38/100 (I think....) Shortly thereafter, their price jumped to more than $60/100. I was disappointed w/ the HP brass. Ended up having to anneal the neck/shoulder to avoid losing 1/4 in the necking up process.  :? Others visiting the same forum had other problems w/ the brass, as well. I haven't bought anymore since then, but when I next buy some, it'll be RWS. Sellier & Bellot (sp?) was supposed to start importing brass, including the 5.6X50R, to the US about 1 1/2 years ago, but apparently changed their minds. One of the guys at the forum had bought some once-fired RWS brass a while back from a fellow in Europe. Can't remember the price, but was much less than the new RWS or HP. I'll probably try something similar at some point in time. If interested in further details, let me know.   The 5.6X50R is really a neat brass to use in Contenders as it has the same small case head diameter as the 223 Rem/222 Rem Mag, but is of course 5 and 7 mm longer, respectively, as well as being rimmed.  :-) Gary T.
