Cool Matt

Most people do not even stop long enough to realize that they do not understand simple things like 'breathing' or 'sleep'. The entire world that we live in IS a complete mystery, including the bodies that we reside in....and 'why' we are in them.  I was given the oppurtunity to 'see' at a very young age, and had many experiences that conventional thinking, education, and upbringing could not have prepared me for.  My first impession was that I was 'losing my mind'.....(the mind that is confined in a 'little box' will label anything 'outside the box' as insane.)  When I got past the initial fear of losing my mind and just sat down and relaxed and enjoyed the ride...I experienced what I will label as 'cosmic consciousness', or 'seeing the Universe unfolded'.  I have long since stopped trying to explain this to anyone who has not experienced any such thing.  I certainly do not try to prove it.  I DO realize that there are MANY people in all walks of life that have had a common awakening experience, although it might not always be the exact same thing, the result is usually the same....the 'Opening of the Mind'. Reminds me of the theme of ' Close Encounters of the Third Kind'.  Some people get the 'invitation' and choose 'not to go'...just stick to 3 meals a day, go to work, get home and watch the television.....hey....that IS exactly what I AM doing....but yet...there is always the underlying feeling and the memory that there IS MORE.  I guess I am just getting old and have lost some of my spirit of adventure.  I don't go sticking my nose into these kind of things anymore, but I HAVE experienced enough to have left a lasting impression on me that life IS truely wonderful and complex.  It IS always wonderful just to 'look up' and see the sky.  I could go on and on, but I will stop here.....just wanted to make sure that you don't think you are the only one that is 'nuts' here.
....make it count

Every person has a different comfort zone within which they exist along with their beliefs and perceptions. A simple optical illusion is a perfect example of how our perception shapes the "reality" we choose to believe. The absolute reality is that none of us see things from all perspectives at once, so we can never know the whole truth. We can only see things from our own perspective, and possibly transplant a few alternate perspectives of an event, place, time, etc. into our own understanding. It is sort of like being able to see a few different wrinkles and a couple of hairs on an elephant's hide, and trying to declare that we understand the whole appearance of an elephant.

A vast majority of folks can constantly make this kind of claim without reservation, for they do not sense or see the world of infinite perspective. Their beliefs are bolstered by the majority presence of others who are similarly blind. I say this not to criticize them, for they are doing admirably well with the gifts they have at their disposal. In the same way I would not fault a mole for being oblivious to the ability to fly. I do believe that some few humans possess a gift of insight into the multi-perspective universe beyond the ability of most other humans.

It is indeed a difficult life for those who recognize and choose to explore and profess the knowledge of this gift. They will invariably be ostricized, labeled, ridiculed, and even attacked for their alternate viewpoint of the universe. They must both withstand the unfair scrutiny and criticism of the unseeing masses and tolerate a world built upon a framework of flawed perceptions accepted by a larger society. They must show bravery and perseverance in defense of what they know is right, as well as tolerance and understanding of beliefs they know to be flawed, all from an "outsider" position, often of low esteem.

I applaud your honesty and forthrightness in expressing your views on the forum. I look forward to learning from your insight and experience. Welcome to the forum!
