:uzi: Here's a pic of the latest addition to my gunsafe. It's a Remington Model 7 Custom MS chambered for the .260 Remington. The new Burris Short Mag 3x-9x scope is cradled in Burris Posi-align rings attached to a Leupold one piece base. It's one sweet handling package and will be my whitetail rifle this coming fall. My rifle hunting for whitetails takes place in the Black Hills NF in Wyoming and will make a great stalking and stand rifle since very few shots over 200 yards are available. I shot a few 129 gr. Hornady SSt's the other day at 100 yards sighting in the scope and it did quite well - 3 shots in 1 1/8". For a mannlicher stocked gun I think this is great and more practical accuracy than is needed for my situation. When the weather lets up a little I'll do more serious load development. I may try some 125 gr. Nosler Partitions in the future. Has anyone had any field experience with the 129 gr. SST's?

That is one georgoush rifle!!!!!!!!

If I might be sold rude....how many bucks did that set you back?

I had a Ruger with a stock like that in .270 but I never got it to shootmuch under 3" groups even after a master gunsmith bedded it.

That gives me a woody

Only reason I've not gotten one YET is I just cannot make up my mind on caliber choice. If they'd offer .358 Win. I think I'd go ahead and jump. But I really would rather see it with the gray instead of brown laminate and SS metal. I should just have me one made like that even if Remington won't do it.

I held one long ago when price was less and that one was marked about $850 as I recall. Now I think MSRP is up around $1200. At my dealer that would likely mean an actual out the door price for me of a shade under $1000.

ros... The cost was about  $1400 for everything. I traded a Franchi Alcione 12 ga O/U for it. Out of pocket cost me a little over $400.
