20 years ago all varmit rifles came with the same stocks as there standard guns, then Ruger comes out with there new var. gun and it has a real varmit stock and everyone follows suit and I thought all is good with the world. Last year I bought a 221 CZ 527 American and it has become my favorite yote calling gun. I have a 6mm,220,22-250,22BR,223 all with heavy barrels and nice varmit stocks, I decieded to get a 204 and was going to get it in a 527CZ Varmit with the heavy Laminate stock but the people at CZ said the barrel contour on the 17 and 204 is different than the 223 so they cant put that stock on it,you think they could make a run of stocks with a smaller barrel channel. If I want a gun to carry I would buy a standard weight barrel with a standard stock. And if I want a heavy barreled gun for varmits or targets I would want a good target/varmit stock. I hope they can change this because Iam sitting here with $600.00 for a gun and Iam itchen to get one. If anyone knows where a guy could get a good varmit stock for the 527 CZ let me know.
