.38 auto revolver...NEED INFO!
« on: February 03, 2005, 08:44:12 AM »
:D  Hi, first post on curios & relics.  My father has a 38 auto revolver that he got from his dad. Octagon barrel. I belive it is completely stainless steel. It is d.a. only.  The revolver is in EXCELLENT shape! On the top is printed very clearly:  FCREHAND ARMS CO. WORCESTER MASS.   PAT. JUNE 8 1891.   The plastic handles, which are a dark chocolate brown, and also in EXCELLENT shape, have:  F&W, with kinda a furdeliss(spelling?) pattern on them.   Its a pin fire.  total length is 6.5"  ANY info about this gun is greatly appreciated!  Im having trouble finding anything on the net.    Thanks, and God Bless!

This does not resemble any F&W in my books.  Being pin-fire and with a  fleur-de-lis motif, you may have a patent-infringing copy made in France.   :?

I have some pics on a disk, in jpg format, but don't know how to post them. I asked for help on the support pages, but didn't get any yet. If somebody could graciously post about how to download pics, I will get em posted!  God Bless!

It's American-made. chambered for the .38S&W round. The 'auto' refers to it's 'auto ejection' of empty cases when the action is opened.

I'm sorry, I don't know where I got 38 auto from, it is chambered for 38s&w,  but there is no action to open. The cylinder comes out like a S.A. revolver, but there is no "hatch" on the right. its just open for putting the shells in and shaking them out one at a time. No ejector rod. If somebody can tell me how to post pics in jpg format I will!
