Browning lever gun chambers
« on: January 31, 2005, 08:14:36 AM »
Are the latest Browning chambers equal to, the original Winchester chambers of old? Seems I remember their 40-65 chamber being different than originals and often referred to , as "the browning 40-65 chamber".  Now that Davidson's is bringing out special run 45-70 and 45-90 levers, makes me wonder what both groove diameter and the chamber measurements will be.

My new Winchester TD in 45-90 arrived this weekend so, I have answered my own question. The rate of twist is 1-26 making me real happy! I was afraid it would be fast twist for the real heavy bullets but true to form, Winchester kept things more to their original dimensions for a change. Can't wait the shoot my home cast 300 grain GC bullets. :D
