I am planning on shooting in the postal match, if I can remember to take the 3x5 cards to the range with me.  I have been a tuning and fiddling and loading on my 223 UV all winter so far, what winter we have had.  Been lots of real mild days, like 65 degrees or even 70's this winter.  What is the deadline for getting the cards in?  Is WlScott going to grade the cards, or someone else?

I too am getting sick of winter. Can't hardly wait for shirtsleeve weather to return. I guess it's an age thing. Up until I turned 50 I didn't mind cold winter weather but the last 3 or 4 years I just hate it. To broke to go south for the winter. Oh well, only about 2 more months till the calander says it's spring. :D

We've had us a few of those 20 plus belows and another coming tonight.  The water pump froze once, the water line once, the winter supply of fire wood is running low, the horse has been in his blanket for 4 days and my tractor won't start without a shot of ether.  Winter Bites.

You guys think it's bad?  I've got five feet of snow in my back yard.  My wife got my truck stuck in the front yard two weeks ago and it took four days to get it out.  The temp that week was 50 below all week.  I'm not talking chill factor I'm talking straight temp.  This morning when I went out for the paper it was 25 below.  It's a lot warmer in Fairbanks they're only three below this morning.  That's why this place is called North Pole, we're always colder than Fairbanks.  Any way my arthritis is really getting me down, and it's been too cold to go out and hunt or do anything outside.  Went to the range yesterday for the first time since November.  The 06 shot as expected.  It still shoots well at -15.   I too am tired of winter!  Wondering why I did not go south this winter like usual.  Wonder how much snow Dave-in-the-bush has down in Valdez?

We have had no picnic weather in North Dakota for a long time either. However we have not had much snow here. Cold and wind though, we have had plenty of that. I went south for a month though. South Dakota that is. I have a little deer hunting ranch down there.
shot placement is everything.

I HATE winter with a passion. The only thing good about it is the crow and predator hunting. Other than that, it makes me sick.

I've been ready for my summer varminting and shooting, not all of this cold snow that makes you stay in the house. With my new 223, I want to go outside and shoot but it's just too darn cold for anything.

Hurry up and get here spring!

Yeah I know what ya mean. I don't think it got above the 50s today here. But it was sunny so it didn't seem so cold.  :)

Here in the Old Dominion, or as GB likes to call it "The One gun per month state" The winter had been decent until 2005 clocked in.
What really gets me is I've been dying to shoot over my new chrony, but haven't wanted to freeze my equipment in the process.
I've been praying for a week above 50.
Bama sounds pretty good about right now.

Well, they're calling for freezing rain to be possible saturday morning, so knowing just how much the weather depends on the weaterman, I'll have my sunblock with me anyway.

By the way, Can anyone tell me how to get a weatherman job? It's the only position I know of that you where can be wrong 50% of the time and still get paid. I NEED me one of those  :)  :-D  :)

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade...

When it snows like crazy and the temperature drops below 0 in Michigan, make...an igloo!

We're REALLY looking forward to warmer weather so we can do some shooting and fishing again!  When is the next postal match?

Here's one from my buds in Michigan:

When it's winter time in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow
About seventy miles an hour
And it's fifty-two below.

You can tell you're in Michigan
Cause the snow's up to your butt
And you take a breath of winter air
And your nose holes both freeze shut.

The weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Michigan
My feet are frozen to the ground.

Well Guys,

I don't mean to rub it in (well, I guess I do) but yesterday was a short sleeve weather day for me.  Around 80!  Here in Houston, we pray for a bit of cold weather...especially in the Summer!

Christmas Eve, we actually got 1 inch of snow in Houston (If you lived South of I-10)!  Everyone in the neighborhood came out and went nuts having snow fights.  You had to scrape the snow off the cars and plants since it would not stick to the ground.  The ground was to warm since two days before it had been up to 80.  But, the snow was exciting especially happening Christmas Eve.

I run marathons so when it came time to run the Houston marathon on Jan 16, we were all praying for cold weather.  Our prayers were answered and the starting temperature was 44!  Very nice!  It only warmed up to about 50 so we were all very happy with the cooperating weather.

Now during the Summer, you folks in the North can laugh at us as we swelter in 95-100 degree temps with 95% humidity.  But for now, we in the South get to sit back and grin.

I know what you guys mean. The wood stove has not went out for 10 or more days.

The dogs haven't moved from there dog houses for 10 day, except to eat(witch they do in there houses now)

It was only 10 here last night.

I have not slept much since it got cold  :coffee: . Have to get up 3 times a night(12:00, 3:00, 5:30) and put wood in the stove. If not the pipes will freeze and I will be in for a few days of hard work, with dad, to get the busted pipes replaced.

:x WINTER REALY SUCKS :x

Wish it would worm up to abou 65 from know till summer.

Is this the "Global Warming" the tree huggers have warned us about? If it is then we better start listening to the PETA people!!!....<><.... :-D

I HATE the winter & I've lived in Michigan all my life !
Summers here are great but winters SUCK.
Snow is a useless nuisance !
When I retire (hopefully in Florida), I'll never have to see a cold winter again....unfortunately that won't happen for about 20 years !
I say these few words to those that warn of supposed Global Warming; BRING IT ON !!!!!!!!
Go MAGNUM/MAX LOAD or GO HOME !
Always use MUCH more gun than the minimum required to do the job.
Recoil is your FRIEND...It lets you know you are using something WORTHWHILE !

Hey MSP Ret,

If it is as cold as the folks up North claim, they will not only have to listen to the tree huggers and the PETA people, they may have to do a "donner Party" thing and eat them!  Wouldn't that be ironic for the PETA people! Yuck!!!
