Squirrel stew
« on: January 22, 2005, 01:48:14 PM »
I just had to blow some smoke to someone besides my better half.  I had my smoke pole smoking this afternoon. I killed 6 tree rats with my 32. cal.
long  rifle this afternoon.  I know it doesn't set a record but that is the best I have ever done in one outing.  I usually only get 1 or 2 at best but today everything came together.  I will confess a couple were so fat from  eating my deer corn that they couldn't  move too fast. Anyway we'll be eating squirrel stew for Sunday dinner.  It should go good with the icy and windy weather that is forecasted for tomorrow.  From the looks of things you guys up North could use a big pot of squirrel stew! Keep warm and I'll be thinking about you!

:D      Now I must confess that I have eaten Rat,but we really dont want to go there at the present time.  Now,some good squirrel stew really sounds good to me right now, thick gravy and some bannock and hot coffee.  A meal fit for a king.  I use my little .32 for the same thing but enjoy chasing bunnies with it also.  I was planning to go out this weekend but this  weather at present does not want me to go to far from the warm kitchen and woodstove.  Glad someone got out in this stuff for some fun.   Stay safe........King
