The moose we took this year, sported only one of these disgusting little pests. (That we found anyways). The local population don't seem to carry a lot of them.
Just north of us, in Algonquin Park, some of the moose actually die from the cold. They rub all their hair off trying to get rid of the tics.
How is it in your area?

It is hard to teach an old moose new tics!

None up here that I have heard off. Must be all the democrat tics from New York that wanted to leave the country after Bush got re-elected.

i'm beginning to think the reason we have so many Liberal governments up here, is that your Democrats keep moving here. Maybe we could declare them persona non gratis?

Last year I read that many calves in New Hampshire rubbed their hide so much it caused infection leasding to death.
