Does BigFoot Migrate??
« on: January 17, 2005, 05:45:40 AM »
Do you think it migrates or just stays within its area?  Some on another bigfoot site think it uses the rivers to migrate but i find it very hard to accept in populated areas like where i live.  But it may use the rivers to go between the large forests here we do have a few.  Which leads me to believe there mainly in the housatonic forest mainly but they could be in the tunxis forest area too.  One report that there was in the housy area.  I just wonder now how much they move around and active they really are. Do you think they stay to themselves in their family group or they interact with other groups too?  I cover a lot of areas for many years in three states between hunting, fishing and dirtbike/quad riding and i have jumped deer, bear and turkeys mostly but I never seen any other sign but I know that mountainlions are there but i don't see sign of them either in Ct. or Mass. but i have in Vermont. But my kids and wife have seen mountainlions in CT. while walking the dogs.  Any thoughts?? :D                                   BigBill

Sorry for my dumb thoughts but i was just wondering if anyone has an idea.

Hi BigBill  :D
Interesting theory, and I use to think that, but after 17 years of living out here in the wilderness, and seeing or hearing them throughout the year, Spring--Summer--Winter. I have come to the conclusion, that here where I live, (I can`t speak for other investigators in other locations, or states), but right here, they stay year round. I have been doing alot more of the hunts, that I haven't reported, but the weather is colder than cold, and I`m not able to stand it more than about 5 hours of dark till I freeze out.
One interesting note:  Last saturday, I was bigfoot hunting, didn`t see or hear anything, but that night at home about 02:00 A.M. in the morning, me and the wife were both woke up with banging or hand slapping on the outside of our brick home. We layed in bed listening to him do the slapping sound all around the house. the outdoor temperature, was 21 degrees, with a howling wind which brought the wind chill down to about -8 below zero. I had our fireplace going all night because of the cold. Now I`m only guessing, but I think Bigfoot was wanting to come in and warm up.
Yes I did go outside with my 12 gauge 00 buck, and saw for a split second a leg and left side of a torso. The leg was black, with 4 inch hair, and the left torso, was a right shoulder and long arm, again black with 4 or 5 inch hair. The next night being Sunday, I sat outside with my night vision, from 23:00 hrs. till 02:30 hrs, and saw and heard nothing. By the time I went around the corner of the house of where it was at, it was gone. Another possiblity, is he smelled the wood smoke from the fireplace, and thought there might be a forest fire, and came for food that would have been burnt up, by such a fire, if it had happened.

So I dont think they migrate, here in the south anyway.

Does BigFoot Migrate??

Hi BigBill,

As far as Bigfoot/Sasquatch migrating in search of major food sources, I believe there may be a good possibility of this. I wouldn't want to guess how far they travel though. As with any other animal living in the wilds, if you find their food, chances are they will be relatively close by. Native legends seem to also go along with the trend of Bigfoot/Sasquatch migrating great distances along the Pacific coast. Perhaps it's for warmer climates in the winter?

From all the reports and information I have gathered on Bigfoot/Sasquatch in my neck of the woods, It would appear that they may indeed use the brush covered edges along waterways (creeks, streams, rivers) as regular travel routes. Many of the people I know that have had multiple Bigfoot/Sasquatch sightings are thoroughly convinced these animals regularly use the edges of waterways for travelling.

It would be anybody's guess if Bigfoot/Sasquatch interacts with other family groups. I can't see them being much different than big-game animals in this regard. Look how the moose, elk, deer (both mule and whitetails) mountain lions, etc. move around the North American continent. If Bigfoot/Sasquatch did in fact cross the Bering Sea land bridge from Europe, it would appear they have certainly made their way south like most other animals have.

There are also many Native legends of Bigfoot/Sasquatch spending some of the winter in holes in the ground or in caves. Seems like this would also be possible, especially if they could gather a good supply of food during the summer and fall and eat it when the pickings are slim.

I'd sure like to hear what other people think about this.

Bulletmaker/guys;   You kind of jogged my memory again I was staying in a trailer on a 700 acre farm in one of the upper fields in Vermont not far from my camp now and we hunting but we were playing cards late at night while some were drinking.(i don't drink)  All of a sudden something hit the trailer like a deer ran full steam into it.  It rocked the trailer and it was a big trailer.  We went outside to look but nothing was seen or heard. We never had anything like that happen before nor since.  All we said was what in the world and ran outside to see what it was.  This trailer was large it had a kitchen w/woodstove and double bunkbeds at both ends of it and what ever hit it shook it.  I would have to hit it with a truck for me to match it.  I  believe it was back in October of '74 we were bear hunting.                                        BigBill

that some migrate while others stay in one area....www.internationalbigfootsociety.com/html/dsp_report.php?id=1571..perhaps BFs establish a territory, but will share it with transient groups for awhile...It says that the two groups avoid each other...

I think they tend to stay in an are as long as there is food, cover, and few human's poking around too much. To many folks, or not enough of the other things and they move out just like any other big game animal.
