Topper 88 lug
« on: January 16, 2005, 04:38:36 PM »
Is the barrel latch lug on a Topper 88 shotgun barrel the same as the latch lug on the SB2 receivers?  Same dimensions?

Donald if it is a screw on , only thing I think is thread on all my
SB 2    1/4 - 20  On my topper it  1/4 - 24 you can  get different screws
to take if don't have right screws  Marv.

Don - the threads are tighter on the Topper than on the regular Pardner lug. I found a screw for mine at Tractor Supply. Came in a two-pack, add a nut and grind off about 1/16 inch, back the nut out and off to reset the threads and it works perfectly. Gonna pick up two more soon and I'll post the numbers when I do.

I am not familiar with the topper or the pardner shotguns.  Is the latching lug attached to the breech by screws on these guns.  The SB2's of course are welded on.  Not talking about the lug that the fore arm attaches to.

THE LUG IS SILVER SOLDERED ON.......YES IT THE SAME SIZE AS THE NEW NEFS ........YES YOU CAN TAKE IT OFF WITH A TORCH BUT I RECOMEND WELDING IT BACK ON ,THERE IS ABOUT A INCH AREA IN ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THE LUG TO WELD ON,YOU CAN SEE THE AREA IF YOU LOOOK AT THE ACTION OF THE RECIEVER WITH NO BARREL ON IT....JB
