Western Super X Shotgun Shells
« on: January 14, 2005, 12:49:04 PM »
An acquaintance recently gave me four full boxes of 3" #6 .410ga. Western Super X shotgun shells.  I don't know the date of manufacture The boxes are printed in yellow, red & black, the shells have red paper hulls and appear quite old. 3 of the boxes have an original retail price of $2.35 marked on them and the other $2.75. I would judge them (boxes and ammo) to be in in very good to excellent condition

Can anyone give me any idea how old they may be and what collector value they may have?  Thanks.

I think they may be fairly newer shells, from the '60's or early '70's. I'll need to do some research to be sure.
Collector interest is pretty high on early shotshells with colorful scenes on the boxes, but generally the newer boxes don't have extremely high collector interest.

marlinman93, I couldn't figure out how to do attachments to GB's e-mail system so I have e-mailed you a link to the photo album at my web page.  Hopefully you will be able to open the photo's by clicking on the thumbnails.  If that doesn't work pm me your e-mail address and I will send them via Outlook Express. Thanks.
