Since we seem to be narrowing in on a date I guess it's time to talk about accomodations.

Wes needs to chime in here for sure. Pretty sure he told me there are both adequate motels and a campground available. Some info on what motels and phone numbers to call would be good when you're feeling up to it again Wes. No rush as it's a good way off yet.

I for one plan to get a motel room for the nights. But I'm sure folks are gonna want to have an evening gathering to sit around the campfire and tell their fully truthful no BS stories and perhaps drink an adult beverage or soft drink. So that too needs to be considered.

What will be the preferences of those who will be attending regarding lodging?

I'm all for the motel, hotel place to stay. Don't want to sleep in a tent or camper. I'd like to get a good nights sleep, then be fresh in the morning.

my back is much younger then most of the rest of you its only been around for 18 years so my motto is have sleeping bag will sleep . i think camping sounds funner then a motel but i do see how a nice warm bed would be nice for some of you.

Since i will be coming with cknight98 it will be up to him if he wants to drag his camper all the way out there or just stay in a motel but either is fine with me.

Have we got an accurate number of how many people are going to attend.

I'm betting you won't have that until the second day of the affair. It always takes some that long to make it and you'll never know for sure until they arrive. :eek:

Wes is gonna post some contact info for local hotels/motels and I guess the campground if there is contact info.

You mean rat next door to a prairie dog mound? Ya might get the plague from one of them infested little buggers snuggling up next to ya to keep warm. :-D

I just got another PM from Wes. He has a couple of friends who are gonna help him put this on for us. One of them has an old chicken house they've converted to a sorta clubhouse for themselves. It's complete with pool table, stove, beer cooler and who knows what else. It's right next to a dog town even. I think that's likely where the evening gatherings will take place. They might let you roll your sleeping bag out there. Dunno. Wes can likely respond to that when he gets on here next.

I would have to get a motel if its that hot down there. I don't like the heat thus I live in the Dakota's. We might get a few days where it hits 100 but 75-85 is much more the norm. Of course we are no strangers to the wind up here either. Tonight its supposed to be 27 below zero with 50-60 below chill factor. 15 below right now.

i live in n.e. ok. you wont need a sleeping bag but you well need a fan if you plan on sleeping at all. :-D :-D :-D JB..OK A A/C UNIT IS BETTER...

Keeping a couple of rattle snakes warm, a scorpion on his ear, and a tarantula walking down his leg. :shock:

In regard to De41mags vision....I don't mind sweatin....but don't like sweatin while trying to sleep at night....Motel with AC for me!! Hot shower, clean sheets and a good nights sleep makes Deadeye a Happy Camper....
