i don't want to start a flame-out  , but you don't need to throw down ANY money on a Ssssss....... SSSSSssssssssaaaaaa , regardless what they say about its accuracy. You want to buy a rifle that doesn't need a new stock right away and doesn't have a Cheap barrel on it!
No insults intended, but you named the two brands that I'd look into: Remington and Ruger. Remington's accuracy speaks for itself, with a service department that may finally be improving -- if it's ever needed. Ruger just plain produces one hell of a rifle, in my opinion, as regards its engineering and its service department -- if it's ever needed.
I'm guessing that Ruger puts a lot of work into that varminter, and would give it every consideration if it were my purchase.
ps: yeah, coyote hunter is a self-proclaimed bigot :x , but so what? he's got it right when it comes to being a Ruger fan!

if his groups are as decent, in the aggregate, as what he shot recently, then that speaks for itself.
pps: i couldn't shoot a .5" group at 200 yds' unless i'd been drinking! :-)
