A location needs decided on. So far we have.

Montana          Person-in-charge ( MTJerry )
Wyoming         Person-in-charge ( MTJerry )
Oklahoma        Person-in-charge ( WLScott )
North Dakota    No volunteer yet
South Dakota   No volunteer yet
Ohio                No volunteer yet

If no one can volunteer for ND, SD or Ohio, we need to vote on the others.

Anymore volunteers or states?

Dates need to be decided on by Person-in-Charge.

Should we vote on location?

Ahemm, I think it's been established that the only PDs in Ohio are in cages, so that should be dropped from the list.... :D

A vote would be in order once some specific locations are defined, a bit early so far, I think.

The specific area for Oklahoma would be Guymon OK.  It's about right smack dab in the middle of the panhandle.  It's a town of about 11,000 people surrounded by wheat, corn and milo fields, sage brush pasture......and prairie dog towns.

There is camping available, as well as an RV park, and hotels/motels.

Oklahoma has a five day non resident hunting license that will cost you $42.50 and is good for five consecutive days.

That's all I can think of for now.
You haven't hunted......Until you've hunted the hunters

From a purely personal standpoint based on distance my choices would be in order of preference:

1. OK
2. WY
3. SD
4. MT

I'm pretty sure "Ed in AL" is in more so if in OK from our e-mails. Haven't heard from Dennis yet.

I can go to any but need someone with me helping drive for the other three and it would be mighty nice to OK even.

One advantage of OK that might or might stay an advantage is Wes has places already lined up to shoot. He has the contacts already in place and knows where to take us. Now it could be that shortly MtJerry will also have that covered.

As has been stated no PDs in Ohio so no need to discuss that one for a PD trip. There are other things to go there for but PDs ain't one of them.

WLScott,
I used to live in Boise City about 100 years ago.  Man do the wind ever blow out there.  Guys,if this hunt comes off, plan on shooting the heaviest, fastest bullet you can shoot.  Most of the time the wind blows from the south, all the trees, when you can find one, all lean to the north.  But if if comes off I will try to be there.  It is about 250 plus miles from me.  Don't take no peashooter out there, it will blow the bullet right back in your face. :D  :D

Wyoming- No license required and tons of public land with numerous dog towns.  It is getting so bad that they are considering poisoning the little buggers again.

Montana.

South Dakota.

Oklahoma is OK.

This one is kinda moot now. OK is set in stone as to dates and most other details. But I've heard nothing at all on the other one. Nixter was working to get another set up for those not wanting to come down to OK from the more northerly areas.

What ever happened there? No reports in a long time.

I'm not sure ND can support the number of shooters you have involved. Most dog towns are not that large and will only sustain a couple shooters at a time. The most shooters we have had on the larger towns was four and we got less than a 1/2 day of shooting before the buggers quit coming out.
Just another worthless opinion!!

I think Nick is going out to MT the week of 6/20, leaving the friday before.  I'm trying to set it up so that I can have that week too, but one of the Gals I work with has a big square dance meet going on that week, and the company only allows 2 per week off from our department, so I may not be able to get that week, but PROBABLY can.  I won't know for sure for another few weeks.  If it turns out that I can't get 6/20 then I'll be going after the 4th.

I don't know what Quick is doing, whether he's going or not.  He may show up at the Quigley match with his 45-120.

MTJerry is networking his area for shootable towns but where he lives there aren't PDs but lotsa gophers which are smaller but still fun.
