hey
anyone have a savage 110 E rifle and if so are they an ok field gun??
are they accurate?  my brother just bought one in.243 that looks in great shape  it is the wood stock model  but i have no experiance with the savage rifles other than my .17hmr

They're reliable, and they're accurate.  To me that makes them good.   Others will indoubtedly chime in abou the "intangibles" that someone makes them not got.  If you want a game getter though, it's a fine rifle.

I have 110 E chambered in .243 WIN. It is all stock and shoots great.
    With the hand loads I make it shoots consistant 1/2 to 3/4 inch groups.
    I have killed countless deer with this rifle. I would recomend a 110 E
    to enyone.

Dad gave me a 110E in .22-250 a number of years ago.  It would shoot groups I could completely cover with a dime at 100 yards.  

My daughter called it "ugly", which was a pretty fair assessment.  Sold it after I managed to shoot the barrel out.  

I'd recommend them to someone who is more interested in shooting than looking good.

Well DIVR, I would call my 110E LA a lot more than ok, it is replacing my other firearms as my primary "in the woods" rig. Even with the package scope that came with it, the rifle is a superb shooter at the range as well and I'd like to get a second 110E when finances permit.

I had a 110E in .270 Win. This was my first high powered rifle. I bought it used and hunted with it for 10 years. I loved it, it shot 150 grain corelokts in an 1" circle at 100 yards. I harvested at least a dozen deer with it. I sold it last summer because the stock was warping and causing accuracy to suffer a little bit. I put the proceeds toward a Tikka t3 in .30-06 which I also love but still miss my old 110 (should have restocked it like my buddy did.)

I have a M110E in 243 and it's a tackdriver with 100gr. handloads.  Killed most of my deer with it and have really enjoyed hunting/shooting with it.  Very accurate and reliable tool.

I have a 110 E in 7 Rem mag and it will put about any factory load in to a  inch or inch and a quarter. Hand loads into three quarters to one inch. It not a looker but it brings the biggest smile to my face every time I look at it.
