Interarms Mark X 375 H&H
« on: December 31, 2004, 02:08:09 PM »
I recently picked up a like new (near perfect) Interarms Mark X 375 H&H (Mauser action) originally bought in '83 or '84.  However, it's not the Whitworth Express model - but similar to it in all respects except w/o the express sights and barrel swivel stud.  Like the Whitworth it does have wood stock (mine has monte carlo) and double recoil lugs.  Essentially the same rifle, but without the Whitworth additions.  I know they're both Zastava built.  I'm wondering if anybody's got one of these non Whitworth Mark X's in 375 like mine - and knows what particular model it is (Classic, Viscount, etc. ??).  I'm aware of the Alaskan model, but that one came with synthetic rather than wood stock.  Any info from any Mark X owners (375 or not) would be helpful in tracking down the particular species of Mark X I just got.

The Alaskan came with the wood stock also like the regular Mark X except in 375 and 458 and had a extra stock crossbolt Disc. 1984, 100% $460 down to 60% of $210.   JIM

jhm,
Mine does have the crossbolt.  Are you saying the Alaskan didn't have the wood stock in 375 & 458?  I think that's what I understand you to be saying.  Doesn't matter in the long run as eventually I'll be getting a synthetic stock for it.   I paid $500 for the rifle which is topped by a nice 1.75-5X Burris.  It's a solid built Mauser for sure and that's what we want/need here in SE Alaska.  It feels like there's more metal there than my Weatherby 338 Win. Mag.  Just got back from a fairly rugged hunt on Chichagof Island with it and the bold release had broken off.  Not what we need here in brown bear country.  I'll not own another Wby.
