I would have like to see a new Savage barrel. Savage has really improved there QC over the last few years. I really think Rem. QC has went down hill over the last 8 years.

Hardly fair to compare a bone stock factory barrel to a hand lapped custom grade match barrel. The latter most likely costs more than the entire factory rifle did and then you have to pay someone to install it and chamber it. And I wonder how many dozen factory barrels they had to go thru to find one with that many inperfections or did they perhaps help some of them along?

I think it would be interesting to see a comparison of barrels that are proven MOA shooters.
