Well I put the carriage kit together today. What can I say other then all the parts went together with out any problems at all. This kit is well worth the money and then some. I fully plan on buying one of Bill's tubes and another naval carriage kit after the holidays are over.

Sweet! :grin: I'll bet you can't wait to get it done so you can take it out and shoot it. New Years Eve at midnight would be good.

Some questions...
What are the dimensions of the carriage?
Did the front wheels come already stained or did you do it?
The complete carriages on the CCC web site have metal tires on the wheels. Aren't those included in the kit?

CAV Trooper the dimensions of the carriage is 18" overall long, 12" wide, 10.5" tall.

The front wheels came already stained as that was what Bill had in stock at the time to meat his promised shipping date. He had told me he would ship on the 16th or the 17th and he shipped out on the 15th a day or 2 ahead of when he had told me when he was going to ship. And it is A-OK with me as that is the color I am doing on the carriage.

As to the metal on the wheels, I did not want the metal on them. When I called in the order I asked him to leave the metal off.

I am also not going to use the aluminum axels as I am going to use Maple dowle for axles, but I need something here now for set up.

Very nice carriage, Lee. I am wondering if they(CCC) will normally route out the notches for the trunions if the customer specifies the trunion size? Also, do you know if they normally pre-drill the holes for placement of the cap lock screws/bolts if those trunion measurements are furnished? Thanks for your wanting to share the pictures with us. And, now we are very anxious to see some pictures of the completed project. Blaster (Bob in CO) :-)

Blaster (Bob in CO) give Bill a call, he did some custom work on my carriage as in he had to make the inside width a little wider and he had to build the trunnion caps with a radius of .8125". He is a very good guy and VERY help full.

I got the trunnion cuts done on the carriage. And now am fitting the caps and the caps hardware. And mounting all the other hardware too, then I will take it all a part and do the stain and clear urethane.

I also got a BILL from UPS for $26.00 for Entry Fees and NAFTA Processing Fee too. So if you guys order from CCC you will get an Importation bill too on top of the shipping and price of what you order. Just thought I would let all you know this.

Bill should be shipping out my swivel gun next week. I'm curious to see how much the entry fees will be for a 30" steel tube with yoke and base plate. I'll post a message when I get the bill to give folks an idea of what it costs for a 75 pound, $1000+ order.

I've really enjoyed the 1/5th scale 24 pounder with 24" barrel from CCC that I purchased through Cannon Mania. The carriage is rock solid and barely recoils shooting golf balls with 250 grains of FG.

I'm anxious to see how your finished gun performs in the field. Keep us posted.

I finally got a bill from UPS for $26.00 for Entry Fees and NAFTA Processing Fee for my swivel gun, the same as Lee1966 paid for his carriage. I think this is pretty much standard for anything shipped from Canadian Cannon Company.

The bill arrived the same day as the beer can mortar with sleigh carriage I ordered a couple of weeks ago from CCC, so I expect to get another $26.00 bill on that one. By the way, that mortar is one fine piece. It's probably lighter than most beer can mortars (20 lbs) and the powder subchamber holds a max charge of 250 grains of 1Fg. The bore is a fairly tight 2.64" and a full 5" deep, so the can fits all the way into the tube with nothing sticking out.

Could you let me know the Outside diameter of your CCC coehorn Please. maybe the overall length also. I would like to build one simular to it for myself.

Powder keg,

Outside diameter is 4". Minimum wall thickness is 0.5". OAL is 7 7/8" measured from the breech face to back of trunnion. The trunnion is 1.2" in diameter and 6" long. Hope this helps.
