FA 83 grips
« on: December 23, 2004, 06:09:32 AM »
I was looking for a set of grips for my model 83 field grade ,I don't like the pacmayrs. I could find nothing that did not require shipping the grip frame off and the cost was excessive .
FA offers semi finished blanks of laminated rosewood , These are the same as what comes on the premier grade . You just have to finish the fit and then put the finish to wood you want .
I thought some one here might be looking for the same thing.

What did they cost? I was looking for the same thing eariler this year and wound up sending the grip frame to Tennessee for some buffalo horn grips. Cost $90 as I remember and I'm very happy with them. I think FA charges about $200 just to fit wood grips.

Freedom arms charges $45 plus shipping , just remember to have your s/n handy as there has been a change in grip frame shape over the years .  You must also be able to do the final fitting and finishing of the grips .

Did you buy your grips from Walt Marston?  I'm thinking about sending my grip frame to him for the same thing.

Yep. I thought it was a heck of a deal. Mention to him if you want them full length or bevelled though. I'll try to post pics.
