DIY Trigger Job?
« on: December 20, 2004, 03:04:16 AM »
All,

As the proud owner of a new Encore SS/Syn .308 Win pistol version, I was wondering
if someone can either point me at a "How to do" trigger job for this gun, or could
offer some pointers.  I have done some trigger adjusting, and surface polishing,
on other triggers.  The trigger on this frame seems decent force wise, but it has
just a touch more travel than I would prefer.  It is not bad, but it could be a little
better.

Thanks in advance for any info you may provide.

I bought a couple of springs from Bellm TCs. I have only used one so far. it was very simple to install, great improvement for me.

I put trigger springs in both of my Encore frames. I used Mike Bellum springs that were supposed to be 1 1/2 lbs. He says on his web page that him spring can very up to 1 1/4 lbs. from 1 frame to another. I guess he`s right, the one I put in my carbine is about 6 oz. and the one I put in my pistole is just under 1 lb. He also has direction and photo on his web page, but they are alittle hard to see well. Hr shows knocking out all 3 pins on his web page but I recomand that you don`t. The trigger spring goes on the second pin and there is no use to take out the hammer, it`s on the third pin and can give you a small problem getting the hammer spring in place. Not a real big deal, but no use to do it.

All 3 pins neeed to be removed if you are stoning.  I have stoned ALL the Encore I have done.  I always buy the 2-2 1/2 or 1 1/2-3lbs springs.  Every frame is different.  Variances from the factory are great and the relationship between the parts help determine trigger pull.

Go to www.bellmtcs.com and download the Encore trigger job.  Easy to follow and get a 3 pack of the springs around the weight you desire.
