.222 carbine barrel
« on: December 15, 2004, 12:11:10 AM »
I have been shooting contender pistols for a few years now, and have just started with the long guns.  So far I have G2 barrels in 17M2 and 17 HMR.  I have been looking for a barrel in .222 (I like the round and have much brass and dies).  So far I haven't found a used barrel available.  I am thinking they weren't the most popular of T/Cs offerings.

Any one know if they were even made?  I am looking at alternatives (.223, .204) or having a barrel made.  But I would prefer a used barrel if I can find one.

Thanks.

Check Ed`s T/C. I got one about 3 years ago. They did make a 222 Rem. carbine for a few years.

Add a 223 Ackley Improved to you wish list 20 to 22" barrel round and it's fun to shoot.

If I recall back in the day they (TC).....for what ever reason thought it necessary to make lots of .222 Rem 10" bull barrels and few carbine length barrels. I have seen a couple on ebay but they are going for top dollar. You may find it easier to find a Hornet barrel for rechamber.
