Price seemed right so I bought one. Looked at the one in the display case at Wal-mart and it (barrel) was marked with all the standard warnings, logos and caliber . Took a new one home and on examination found that there are no markings on it at all with the exception of a serial number on the port side of the receiver. It is in .270 Winchester. I think it got out of the factory before it was finished. Sent a mail to Mossberg, but no response yet. It appears to have a headspace set up like the Savage, but no spanner slots for the locknut, it is smooth. Magazine follower is stamped metal and flimsy, but works smoothly. Bolt smooth, trigger is crisp and looks like it is adjustable. Barrel is free floated. Verified it was 270, took it to the range with factory Win 130 and 150 grain...Gave it a good cleaning and commenced sight in with 150 grain Power Points. Got sighted in and commenced group shooting with good cool off between groups and clean. Best group
.700 with four of five touching. Scope went bad so did not shoot the 130 grain. Still waiting on word from Mossberg..it did shoot, but of course you get what you pay for.
