Harris bipod installation - advice needed
« on: December 13, 2004, 04:20:57 AM »
I'm planning to get a Harris bipod for my rifle and have a question about mounting to the QD swivel stud. The stud on my rifle is pretty close to the fore end tip - about an inch and a half. Will I need to relocate the stud for secure mounting?

You will not have to relocate your swivel stud.  I have the Ruger M77/17 w/ Laminate stock, which of course the QD Stud is 1 1/2" from the fore end.  I tested my Harris prone bipod, and the (don't know what its called, so for lack of a better word,) the fore end "deck" was flush with the front the stock.  In other words, it fit just fine.  So I would say it would fit perfectly on yours as well.  Let us know how this bipod works for you. :D   Patriot
