That would be a question to ask before you purchase a pups, escpecially the person you are purchasing them from. How are the parents around kids? Personally, I think paying for a dog from quality hunting lines is worth it. Think about the time you invest in training and the number of years that you will have a dog to hunt with you - at least 10 years and if you spend $500 to $600 on a pup - it is a $50 to $60 a year investment versus a crapshoot on a breeding just because a dog looks like a certain breed. Yes, all dogs can be a crapshoot, genetics is like that, however, I would rather roll the dice when they are in my favor. Just my 2 cents.
