Howdy Everyone,
Going to check out some remington pumps tomorrow.
Local pawnshop has four of them that are up for sale.
Anyone have any tips as to what to look out for in a pump?
I have a old 740 in 30/06 but though a shortened pump would do better as a brush gun.
Where I have been hunting a 50 yard shot is a long shot.
Lots of game and lots of vinemaple ,devils club etc.

Thats what I was thinking. They also have a 308 but there is not a lot of differents in the two rounds at 50 yards and under.
Made up some dummy rounds to run though them to see if there is a feeding problem etc. I will probley bring one of them home.
I have a 99 in 300 Savage but it has had a hard life.It has a shorty 16 1/2 inch barrel and a cut down stock.More like a youth model for the kids.
I got that gun in a box.About 15 years ago.It was a slow project but it is a shooter now.

If anyone needs 300 Savage clips for a 760, I have 3 for sale. They are listed in the classified ads.

If I could find a decent 760 in .300 Savage I'd gladly buy those extra clips from you.  Passed one up about a year ago and I've been kicking myself ever since.

How much do you want for the .300 Savage clips for the Remington 760 pump?  You stated that they are listed in the classifieds but I'm a new user and don't know where the classifieds are located.  Are they on this web site?  Please respond to while99@comcast.net

Yes the classifieds is the Classifieds Forum near the bottom of the Forums Index right here at GBO. Just go back to the Forums Index where all the forums are listed. Scroll down to the Misc section. The Classifieds Forum is there.

300 savage 760

Years ago I passed on a 760 in 300 savage. I have been kicking myself ever sense. I have yet to see another in my area. I inherited a savage 99 in 300 savage when I was a teenager and it is fine rifle. I think 308 has a bit more powder capacity if you reload but both are good deer rounds.
