This post makes no sense at all. A .270 (or a .30-06 or a .30-30), if sighted in at 100 yards, will shoot in the vicinity of 2-3" low at 185 yards. If the .270 shot like you described it would be a miracle, so there must be another explanation.
* Are you using iron or scope sights?
* Are you shooting over level ground, or uphill/downhill?
* How certain are you of the point of impact? Did you shoot at least three shots and find the center of the group?
* How large were the groups you fired at 185 yards?
* Are you shooting off a hard rest or a soft rest, or no rest?
My guess is that candid answers to the above questions will point out the problem.
