« on: November 29, 2004, 05:19:46 PM »
I just got a 10 ga SB2- MAB and i am wanting to put a red dot scope on it.
the barrel is drilled but the holes are half way up the barrel. What is the proper or bet way to put one on this gun.

i am in the process of getting a 10  gauge myself and i just asked that very question, the red dots work well, i am told but if you want a scope you have to have it redrilled a little closer up the barrel, or go with a handgun scope :-)

Someone else will probably be able to tell you which scope rail to purchase because I cannot remember...Half way up the barrel is what you call a Scout scope mount.  You can purchase either a red dot or a scout/pistol scope for this application.  I would opt for the red dot if you are going to use this gun for turkey hunting.  The red dot would work perfectly with the scout placement.  Make sure you purchase a red dot that can handle the 10GA recoil and have at it...Good luck.
