7600 sling swivels
« on: November 28, 2004, 07:35:56 AM »
Just got my first 7600, a syn. stocked 35 rem. I love it, now got to set it up I've got the scpoe on and sighted in. It shoots ONE and half inch groups at 100yds.WOW I never would have thought anything but a bolt or single shot would shoot that good ,this is with factory ammo,.  Now i need a sling and do NOT want to put a barrel band on this rifle.I have been told thats my only choice with the 7600 and that the ones for the 760's wont fit HELP

A barrel band is your only choice as far as I know. If you want something distinctive, try a barrel band for a Marlin. The half barrel band looks pretty good.

The one I use on my 7600 35 Whelen is meant for a shotgun it has a web that slides over the butt and a noose and choker to tighten on the barrel. It not meant as a shooting aid but too aid in transporting. I didn't want to alter my 7600 either and it seemed to be the only option. Good luck in your search

The best way to mount a sling swivel is to use a barrel band. I had a 760 and now have a 7600. I just accept it as just the way it is.

Yeah, you can use them but they're made for the original 760 with the barrel hanger attached to the barrel. Uncle Mike's doesn't recommend using them on newer 760s and 7600 rifles. I used them for a while on my 760 and it made the forend loose.
