Issues with Beretta's distributing of Tikkas
« on: November 27, 2004, 07:38:11 AM »
Hey... I'd been in market for a Tikka t3 Lite the past 5 or so months.  The demand for the new t3's have skyrocketed everywhere, so why isn't Beretta making a bigger effort to import more from Sako?  I was looking to buy a t3 Lite Stainless in 270WSM, but no place was even recieving Tikkas from Beretta.  Luckily I called my local sporting goods store this week and they had a Lite in 270Win, so I put my name on it.  Id asked a month ago when they expected to get a new shipment in from Beretta, and they said Beretta's just not sending stores the guns.  They said Id probably have to wait until January or so.  There was a huge waiting list of people, more than 500, that were wanting Tikkas.  Beretta ought to capitalize on this market-- I dont see what there waiting for.  Maybe theyll ending jacking the price up on those guns.  Hope that doesnt happen.  If you find a Tikka anywhere, buy it.  Theyre amazing rifles, and the price isnt bad at all.  Beretta needs to step it up a little.

I waited months for a T3 s/s in .223 only to get the run around about supply and demand being to high, and Beretta only shipping a certain caliber a few times of year. I finally got frustrated and bought a Howa 1500 in s/s. After a small trigger adjustment to take out some of the creep, which I did with the help of the gunsmith over the phone from Lagacy ( the company that makes the gun ) I have been able to shoot under a one inch group with run of the mill factory ammo. It has turned out to be such a great gun, that I'm going to buy another one in .243 for my kid. That way I don't have to deal with the run around or the RECALL from Beretta and it's about $175 less expensive.

Has anyone tried gunbroker.com for the t-3?  Last time I looked they had quite a few of them (not sure exactly what calibers though)
Good Luck

Tikka and pricing

There seems like the Tikkas are getting harder to get.  There are some T 3's on Gun Broker but the price they are asking plus the FFL $30 dollars and shipping means they are getting closer to the cost of a Remington.  I think they will be raising their price before to long.  They are delivering a very good firearm for a very competitive price.  If they can not keep up with demand I guess you can charge more.  We will have to see how this plays out.  Buckfever

Even if they are getting close to the cost of a remington, you get a much better product in the Tikka for many reasons in my opinion.  I pd about $495 for my t-3 in 7-08 and $510 for my t-3 tmag a few months ago, both in stainless synthetic on gunbroker.  Nothing comes close in my opinion for the money.

Mr. Christopher, just looked again at gunbroker.com and there's one there in .223 stainless/synthetic varmint version for $575.  Take a look.

I can't agree more these Tikkas are excellent.  How about the feeling the first few shots after sight in and the accuracy it is outstanding!!  That my friends builds confidence like nothing else.  Buckfever

First time poster, but had to comment on my new rifle. Sighted my new 270wsm T3 yesterday accuracy out of the box is unreal. Thought my mountain rifle was accurate no comparison. But it does have a bit more kick than the '06 .
